ABOUT THE ARTIST

My name is Andrea Garcia, I am currently a CGI Artist in the Dallas area. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree from Texas A&M University in Visualization and a minor in Art and Architectural History.

I majored in Visualization with a focus in Interactive Design and Animation. In my college career, I was able to gain experience in UI/UX front end development and all aspects of the animation pipeline. I gained familiarity in softwares such as: Adobe Creative Cloud, Substance Painter, Maya, RenderMan, Nuke, and Figma.

I was a part of two teams which made animated short films. One of the shorts, Station '65, was created in Unreal Engine 4. My responsibilities included: co-story lead, art, surfacing, set dressing, and modeling. This team of 10 worked together over the course of a year to create this short. For the other short film, Clock-ception, I was the project manager, and lead in: surfacing, story, rendering, and pipeline. I also was a part of modeling, lighting, and sound.

After working in multiple teams, I realized I had a major interest in project management roles. I have a natural disposition for organization, and finishing things on time, so I sought positions in organizations and projects where I could learn and gain more experience in project management. I also applied and was chosen to be a part of a Women in Animation Mentorship Circle where I was mentored by the award-winning producer, Monica Joy, in the best uses of project management in production and creative fields. As I have a natural disposition for organization and finishing things on time, I believe I have the right personality for this type of job. I hope to use my background as an artist and tendency for order to become a project manager in creative fields and support artists in projects which are efficient, on time, and under budget.
